Using Manny Ramirez effectively in MLB The Show 26 is less about forcing a home run every time he comes to the plate and more about making each matchup uncomfortable. The 99 OVR Milestone card has the power to change an inning, but players who spend MLB 26 stubs building a lineup around big bats still need a plan for difficult counts, pitch selection, and lineup order. Manny's real value appears when his plate appearances create pressure before and after the swing.

Let the Matchup Come to You

Elite power can tempt players into swinging at pitches they would normally take. That is the fastest way to make Manny predictable. His best at-bats usually begin with a clear idea of which pitch locations you can drive, not with a decision to swing at everything near the zone.

◆ Take the first pitch when it misses your preferred area.

◆ Avoid chasing low breaking pitches unless your timing and PCI position are already comfortable there.

◆ Look for a pitch you can hit hard rather than simply reacting to Manny's power rating.

Once an opponent notices that you will not expand the zone, they must either challenge Manny or risk falling behind in the count. That gives you more control over the at-bat and makes hard contact more likely.

Read Pitch Sequencing, Not Just Individual Pitches

Many players focus on identifying the pitch type while ignoring the order in which pitches are being used. Manny becomes much easier to handle when the opponent can repeat the same sequence without consequences.

If a pitcher starts several at-bats with breaking pitches, stay alert for a fastball later in the count. The opposite can also happen: an opponent may establish the fastball early, then use a breaking pitch after you begin sitting on velocity. Watch for habits in timing, location, and count usage.

Do not assume a pattern will continue forever. Use the first few plate appearances to gather information, then adjust when the opponent changes approach. Patient swings are especially valuable against human opponents because forcing them to throw another pitch can reveal whether their plan is consistent.

Use Manny to Shape the Lineup

Manny should not be viewed as an isolated power bat. His lineup position affects the decisions made against the hitters around him. A reliable contact hitter ahead of him can turn a solo home-run threat into a run-producing opportunity with traffic on base.

◆ Place a hitter before Manny who can reach base without needing perfect contact.

◆ Use the middle of the lineup to punish pitchers who avoid challenging Manny.

◆ Keep another dangerous bat nearby when possible, so one difficult plate appearance does not solve the opponent's entire problem.

This structure gives Manny more chances to hit with runners on while preventing the opponent from comfortably working around him. Even when he makes an out, the following hitter may receive a better pitch because the opponent has spent time and resources managing Manny's at-bat.

When Manny Is the Wrong Batter to Force

There will be matchups where Manny's power does not outweigh poor timing, uncomfortable locations, or a pitcher's ability to disrupt your preferred swing path. Do not treat the card's overall rating as a command to attack every pitch.

A successful Manny Ramirez plate appearance can mean a home run, a hard single, a long count, or a favorable situation for the next hitter. The goal is to keep the opponent from having an easy plan. If you stay selective, recognize sequencing, and surround him with hitters who can reach base, his spot becomes a constant source of lineup pressure. Players managing MLB The Show 26 Stubs should remember that smart at-bats will usually create more value than chasing spectacular swings, and every decision should support that approach.
